Another Friday, some more favorites :) serving them right up!

1. The cooler weather - I don't mind the cold, it makes me feel all cozy. I don't really like to be out in it, I like to stay home, build a pallet on the floor with a good movie and maybe some chili or soup and watch the snow fall outside with no place to be :) Since the cold literally snuck up on us this week, all we had for our Landon was either his 6-12 month coat from last year, or a lightweight fall jacket.  We've been using the coat from last year.  Needless to say, he needs a winter coat. And if we are spending $40+ on a coat that he will outgrow it better be cute! I couldn't find a cute one anywhere, not even my favorite store BabyGap! What? I looked at Zara, H&M, Babies R Us, Target. I finally found it! Carter's online! It's a 3 in 1! How cute is this coat? Judging by the reviews lots of people love it! Can't wait to bundle my Landon in it!

Who can resist winter hats, or babies in winter hats in the banana aisle? If you can picture this little elf saying "Nana Nana Nana NANA" very loudly. That's what happened.

2. My mommy - I just love my mom.  She's the greatest.  She stayed with us on Wednesday of this past week because she had a minor doctor's appointment and had to have someone with her for 24 hours afterward.  Wednesday, we had a taco night and lots of laughs and playing with the baby.  She wanted to put Landon to sleep and so she read him a book, changed his diaper, and he fell asleep on her shoulder.  We watched Dateline like we always do together and had a slumber party...on a Wednesday! Love my mommy, and our slumber parties!

3. Starbucks groupon - Did you get it?! $5 for $10. Enough said! This should have been on my favs last week because I actually bought it last week! 2 of them! I am one that ALWAYS makes my coffee at home. We have a Keurig but I normally just use the reusable K-Cup with my Folgers or Dunkin Donuts coffee and hazelnut creamer. It's nice to get a festive treat every now and then....I see lots of Christmas shopping mornings in our future with some yummy Peppermint Mochas or Gingerbread Lattes in hand! You know you can't Christmas shop without your Starbucks. Cheers! 

4. Ikea - Lately I have been swooning over Ikea furniture! When we end up moving, I can't wait to decorate with their furniture/accessories! And we get one here in the KC area next year......Here are some things that I am dreaming of for the next house:

6. My last but CERTAINLY not least favorite from this week is this: 

This. This is my wedding set from the hubs - obviously. Can you notice that little $99 ring below it though? That's my promise ring. The one that he gave me when we were sitting on the couch at his moms house when I was 15 and he was 17.  He had a camero and I couldn't even drive. 

Yes, HE remembered and I did not...unheard of!!

With our 12 year anniversary of him asking me out on November 13, I got to thinking. Both rings are a symbol of his love for me (and mine for him) so why not wear them on the same finger? The one that leads straight to your heart. I used to wear it on my right ring finger, but I just think its fits so beautifully on this one. So, on this one it shall stay :)

{25 Days of Christmas}

You better believe that every day in December leading up to Christmas will be fun-filled over here! I saw some lists online and customized it to be things that we will actually do.  I'll be honest as much fun as caroling sounds, we won't do it.  It would be just jolly me singing and nobody wants that :) Here are our 25 Days of Christmas.  I plan to print this out and put it on our fridge so we don't forget the fun activity that is planned for that day/night/morning! 

I found out one of my favorite things to do during the holiday season got shut down last year! 7611 Falmouth in Prairie Village.  The Christmas House! The city of Prairie Village forced him to stop.  So sad! Prairie Village, Kansas is officially the Grinch Who Stole Christmas!

Still, there is so much FUN to look forward to in the coming weeks! 

{weekend recap}

Fall is in full force and the holiday season is here! How beautiful does our street look? This photo was taken on Friday. Gorgeous and totally screams fall to me. Happy to live where there are lots of trees! 

Our weekend of course started on Friday night. We had my dad and step-mom over as well as Mike's dad to listen - yes, I said listen - to the KU game. The game was blacked out on TVand I think we had the 2 maddest KU fans right in our house. Yikes! At least they won...

Anyway, they brought over KFC and while everyone was hanging out in the living room, Landon was just playing with his cars and being cute. 

My step-mom and dad brought over these "car car" {said whispering, if you're Landon} and he was obsessed! I mean did not stop playing with them the whole night. Isn't that the sweetest baby face you ever did see. I still can't believe its been 16 months since he was kicking my ribs and giving me terrible heartburn :)

Saturday, we slept in until 7....I know right? How sad that's sleeping in, now. Anyway, it was a nana and waffle for Tater tot and some morning cartoons as usual. Then, it was a kiss for daddy because he had to go to work and a nap for Landon.  That's our sweet pup, Cal laying watch outside of his door like he has done since Landon was born. 

Is it weird that I always have to pick out some really dressy outfit to go shopping? Why is that? I never go shopping in sweatpants or anything remotely casual. I had to post my outfit of the day (OOTD for my Instagram peeps), because I love love love it!

Then it was - wait for it...- CHRISTMAS shopping! If you want to call it that. It was my mom, Mike's mom, Landon and I. I love having the support of both of these lovely ladies when we're out. It's nice to shift the toddler duties to people that are so willing to help! Oh and I think I forgot to mention, Landon loathes shopping. I'm talking complete and utter hot mess meltdown when the doors to Nordies open. That is NOT an exaggeration. So getting him through this shopping extravaganza was a little rough. He made it mostly unscathed, and I will remember next time we go shopping, that Mike needs to watch him :)

I got a couple Christmas pressies and stocking stuffers for Mike and Landon got some Converse's from Grandma Kathy and my mom bought me some CUTE shoes as a birthday present for me. They were on sale too! I think they would look so cute with black leggings and a slouchy gray or dark green sweater this winter.  Maybe even for Christmas!

Back to the baby. 

Where's my shopping baby, the one that doesn't scream at the top of his lungs because we won't let him walk into the shoe stockroom?! Seriously. That happened. He did have some fun though. They had a little coloring/craft table with snacks on it for the kiddos! Brilliant! Please ignore all the bruises on his head. He took a nasty spill in Nebraska Furniture Mart earlier that day. Poor guy!

Saturday night it was a comfort food dinner night. It was cold out and we were all snuggled in the basement. We had a delicious grilled cheese and tomato soup {totally my go-to meal, an all time fav}. We stopped buying the normal loaves of bread and now buy the Italian Bread loaves in the deli section. Makes for an extra delish grilled cheese! 

And of course, a meal is not complete without dessert. Super easy but healthy? Maybe a little. Only because of the apple, but I think the peanut butter/choc chip combo probably would cancel it out.  It's still a winner over here! Peanut butter chocolate chip apples....you can thank me later. 

Easiest recipe in the history of recipes: 

1 Honeycrisp apple sliced & diced {only becaus I have a toddler that's addicted to this as well} 

A couple large scoops of peanut butter in a coffee mug - melted {normally about 40 seconds in the microwave}

Mini chocolate chips added to the top, as many as your little heart desires. 

Our hearts desire a lot of chocolate chips over here. It is ooey gooey goodness! The peanut butter melts the chocolate chips and it's heaven! Oh and it's really fun to clean off of a toddler's hands when he digs the last apples out of the bowl.

Sunday - No Chiefs game so we have dad all to ourselves! We went to church at 9 like normal, then went and ran some errands at Sam's. Did you guys know they have fleece Carter's pajamas for cheap!? I professed my love for footie jams in this post. Landon will totally be rocking these footie jams on Christmas eve.  Still planning on wrapping some jammies and a movie and some snacks like a pretzel/marshmallow/teddy graham/raisin trail mix for him to snack on while we watch the movie and make Santa's cookies!

We hung out at the in-laws for a bit.  As you can see in the hour that we were there Hurricane Landon came rolling through.  The damage was pretty bad.

 We then went to a couple open houses around their house and met our realtor at a couple of models to check the progress! Landon cracks me up in these spaces that have so much room to run around in! He will be happy when we move :)

We ended up having dinner at the in-laws with some wine and laughter! A GREAT way to end our weekend!

2. My go to hair products: I hate having stuff in my hair, I don't like the way it feels heavy with product in it. I do, however LOVE these products and have used them forever!! The first one I use right when I get out of the shower. It's smells yummy and doesn't weigh anything! 

The 2nd one I use when I don't feel like washing my hair {that's a lot! Anyone with long hair feel my pain? It's such hard work!} and I even let mine air dry 98% o the time. My husband makes fun of me when I tell him I have to wash my hair in the morning, he says "Oh gosh, you might as well not sleep tonight and get started right now". Anyway I love this dry shampoo by Enjoy! I just spray it on, put on my makeup, comb through it and I'm good as gold! We'll maybe silver ;)

And the go to hairspray even though I don't typically wear it?

3. This sippy from Target - when I spotted this sippy I couldn't snag it up fast enough. A reindeer? With little plastic red antlers, that my son will probably chew off?! Yes, please, I wanted one for myself too, but figured I would get weird looks.....

When I was rolling the cart through Target I couldn't stop myself from singing to Landon, "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". Yes, yes I did. Look at that face.  I can't take it. He's thinking is it a reindeer or a sippy cup...?

4. BabyGap Friends and Family Sale! - Love their sales! Landon got a pair of new Footie jammies with lions on them! Perfect, because he just learned to say "Lion" from his book 'My First 100 Words"

{weekend recap}

**Edited to Add** After I finished this post, Landon got pukey sick 3 times all over our bed and 2 sets of sheets 2 seperate times, all over the books and dresser in his room and all over himself and Mike....so maybe our weekend wasn't all fun :-( He's better now, we think he just caught a 24 hr. bug. **

Another busy Bozarth weekend! On Friday, we were all tired from a long busy week at work {and daycare} so Mike and I just relaxed on the couch with some wine while I picked out some Christmas gifts for Landon in the PB Kids catalog. We had pesto pasta with tomatoes and mozzarella balls then watched Landon destroy our living room. Part of the reason we need a little bigger house...

Saturday, it was up and at 'em! First, breakfast, and you better believe the Christmas jams were busted out! Don't worry, there's more where that came from. I have a new obsession with footie jams. I had been buying 2 pieces lately, but these ones are footie & they are so cute on!

Speaking of pajamas: I saw the cutest idea on Pinterest that we will be doing this year  - give your child a present with Christmas pajamas and a movie and some fun snacks for them to open on Christmas Eve every year as a family tradition. How fun! I also have visions of a hot cocoa bar on Christmas Eve! Can't wait!

November 1 = Holiday season to me. Holiday season = officially acceptable to wear Christmas jams, play Christmas jams, and of course decorate for Christmas. I'm not allowed to {hubby says only the week of Thanksgiving}, but I don't look down to anyone that does... Holidays are my jam.

By 9am we already had my car's oil changed and a tire rotation and the grocery shopping for the week done!  I very much dislike running errands during the day on Saturdays, or Sundays because I feel like I have wasted my day doing that so I'm always one to get it out of the way early rather than later. 

Saturday night, Landon and I stayed home while Mike went to a work friends birthday party. I wasn't feeling great and wanted to stay home with my boy. We watched the Grinch Who Stole Christmas and snuggled and shared a bowl of my microwave Mac & Cheese. It's amazing how much fun you can have by not doing anything at all. 

Sunday morning started with some snuggling in bed with our little munchkin and his banana. When we want to stay in bed and snuggle we let him have his morning nana in bed. It's a hot mess normally and that day was no exception. Then we made a breakfast that looked a little something like this. 

Whipped cream is amazing, in case you didn't know. I keep ours in the freezer and use it on just about everything. Coffee. Ice cream. Pancakes. On a spoon...by itself. 

After that was church and Landon was so good. Funny story from church: he was perfect and then at the end he started getting a bit fussy and tired. My mother-in-law {we go to church with them on Sundays} took him to try and calm him so we didn't have to leave the congregation that close to the end of the service. There was an older man sitting next to her and apparently he had some effect on Landon. He stood there next to my mother-in-law and the man in silence looking down for the last 10-15 minutes of church. He even had his hands clasp like he was praying. We were laughing so hard that we were crying. At one point Landon made eye contact with Mike and I but did not move his head up, just his eyes. I mean, hysterical.

I have a tip mommies and daddies that take their children to church. Our church doesn't have a cry room and the children need to be a little older for Sunday school. If they are fussy, DON'T take them out and put them down! We used to let him run around in the back of the church {you can still hear everything and see, but there is glass separating the area} When a child screams typically their parent takes them to the back. Finally, we figured out that he would start crying and then would get rewarded by being able to go to the back and run around. Not anymore. If he cries, we're holding him. He doesn't get a reward for screaming in church. I have noticed a difference in his behavior, too! 

Once we got home from church Landon napped, and I put some chili in the crockpot to eat for dinner after the Chiefs game. This is the recipe I use and I typically will use Italian or some special bread instead of crackers. So much better in my opinion! 

Fall Chili Recipe

1 lb ground beef (cooked & drained)

1 can tomato soup

1/2 empty can of water (from soup can)

1 can chili beans

1 can diced tomatoes 

1 pkg chili seasoning

Cook on low 3-4 hrs

Serve with lots of cheese and sour cream and some yummy bread and you've got yourself a meal your belly will love you for!

Perfect recipe for me: few ingredients and not much work :) I like.

Landon got to play with his friend Graham during the game. Win-win-win. Landon, us and of course the CHIEFS! 9-0! Woo!

Then we went on a very fallish walk, ate some Chili and watched October Sky and some more football. We were in bed at 7 due to Daylight Savings throwing us for a loop! Look at that precious baby face. I could just eat him up {I love him so}! - Where The Wild Things Are referral :)

{halloweenie 2013}

We had a "fabulous" {said in my best Orbit Gum girl voice} Halloween this year. Landon was our little Gator, I went as the Orbit Gum girl, Mike was the Chief's coach Andy Reid. 

Next year I think we will have some kind of a family costume theme, but this year Mike and I weren't planning on dressing up. I was working one day and thought, how boring are we!? We need to dress up for our Landon, so we quickly came up with some costumes. Mine came about thanks to my hairdresser.  She suggested it and I ran with it! 

Mike just thought of his when I let him in on the fact that we would be dressing up :) He didn't stand a chance.  Landon LOVED it.  He kept laughing at his daddy's pillow belly and kissing his mommy. He's just the sweetest!

I made my yummy Halloween crunch complete with candy corn.  Delish!

We brought the wagon that we got him for his birthday to wheel his around in, but he wanted to walk - or run! He was cracking me up running from door to door with only a few detours along the way.  He was following the lead of his 2nd cousins! He literally caught the hang of it after the first house.  Once he figured out that candy was involved he was off to the races!

After a while his little hands got cold and so we went back to my cousins house. She always has a great family Halloween party at her house.  We had some Chili, watched the kids play, answered the door to give out candy, and chatted before we called it a night.  It was a great "first" Halloween for Landon, meaning first Halloween that he really participated in the fun festiveness! We loved every minute of it!

Just a few of my favorite things lately:

1. This ADORABLE elf hat I bought for my babe {the smallest babe - can you imagine if Mike wore this? Yikes} earlier this week! How cute for Christmas? Can be found here if you would like one for your little Christmas elf! But now that I look at the link, we may have bought the last one.  Looks like the shop is not stocked anymore.  You could always send the shop owner a message. 

I ordered mine in a light green {not the bright green shown}without the straps because, lets be honest, he would hate to have something tied under his chin. We're talking about the boy that wouldn't wear his first birthday hat that I specifically ordered for his birthday. So sad.

2. Leftover Halloween Candy - We will be so upset when he can actually eat the Halloween candy. Seriously. Hubby and I went to town on his candy tonight. Sorry buddy, we don't want you to damage your teeth....at least that's our story. He doesn't know any better yet. Cheers! Also we really like Twix bars...

3. November 1st - That's today! And it means the start of the "Holiday Season" for us at our house. It's acceptable now to listen to Christmas music from here on out...or maybe that's just me. The PB Kids catalog came in the mail today. I see lots of items from the catalog under our Christmas tree this year. A train you can ride on! Yes, please! Also, can we please talk about how cute those personalized Santa gift bags are! They can be used year after year. I mean really?! Too much! Hashtag PotteryBarnKidsDoesItAgain.
