{new home: the kitchen}

Our kitchen is really progressing as far as decision making goes! It's very exciting to build what we want and just go to meetings to choose. My husband sort of let me take the reins on the kitchen decisions. We are certainly on our way to having the kitchen I see in my mind. Some things that we have chosen this far include:

Paint - we chose one paint and one trim color for the house. Sherwin Williams Alabaster for the trim & kitchen cabinets, Repose Gray for the wall color. 


Cabinet style - 

We chose this style of cabinet because it was right in between the two extremes. Not totally square shaker style & not overly decorative. I love the simplistic style of them. I think they will look just perfect!


Pulls - 

For the handles, they offered JUST what I wanted! I was very excited about that! We chose the bottom right ones in silver and in the kitchen and the rest of the vanities/cabinets throughout the house will be a very dark stain so we chose the dark handles in the same size for those, to be consistent. 


Crown molding - 

We are going for a very clean and crisp look in the kitchen. The crown molding on top of the cabinets will stay consistent with that look. We chose the 2nd from the top because it is simple but with some presence to it.


Countertops - 

We just recently picked the granite out & my husband left this decision to me. I must say, I was on the fence. These were our 2 finalists - granite and Carrara marble:


After much thought and consideration, we chose the granite on the left. With 2 children and 2 coffee and wine drinkers we just didn't think marble would be a good option for us in the long run. Granite is much less maintence than marble and I don't think I would be able to be neurotic about keeping the marble free of wine/coffee/tomatos/juice. We won't have to worry about this with the granite. We did choose the lightest option that was offered to us. This is the granite on top of Landon's crib, which is basically the same color that we chose for all the trim in our home. I ultimately think we will not regret this decision. Low maintenance is good for a growing family :)


We chose a more contemporary square edge for the countertops, and a dark sink (even with a light kitchen I like a dark sink better than stainless steel or white because it doesn't show as much) with one side that's bigger than the other for extra large dishes and pans. Yay! 

Keeping with the rest of the house {entry/bathroom/breakfast nook} the floors will be a dark walnut too.

I think the only other things to pick out are the backsplash - I'm thinking something like subway tile & the appliances

{26 weeks}




          T-shirt {similar} / necklace / nail polish

How far along? 26 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: I would say about 15 lbs. 
Maternity clothes? A couple of cropped maternity pants but not any shirts yet. I try to wear my maxis & leggings most of the time of course, just due to comfort reasons.
Stretch marks? No, I was totally rocking the 2 piece in Florida. No chance of me buying a maternity suit & hopefully I don't get any stretch marks either!

Sleep: Feeling exhausted, but as stated on Instagram, I am so SO thankful for my amazing husband. I won the husband lottery. Seriously. He is such a great and supportive husband and father. We went to the park with Landon in his PJs the other night when we got home from the airport. I watched my husband chase Landon around for an hour. If you know my son, then you know he NEVER sits still. 



My husband is a saint, and he totally gets why I'm so tired and never says a word about it. He also comes home with chocolate for mommy ;)

Best moment this week: We got a free 3-D sonogram from our OB office & so we took advantage of that today! We got to see our sweetie pie's face, I would say that was the best moment this week. Here's some sneaks at the little lady :)

Of course, any time spent with my boys is the best as well, as our time as a family of 3 is winding down. 

My Landon LOVES his baby sister already. I'm going to try to get a video of it, but he talks to her and kisses and hugs her. He is already so in love, I imagine he will be over the moon when she arrives...or the complete opposite?

On Sunday, we celebrated my husband, father, father-in-laws and all the other great dads! Saturday night we grilled at my brother-in-laws (my dad and other FIL were both out of town). On Sunday, it was all about MIKE! He is the most natural dad in the world & there really are no words to describe his co-parenting. He's amazing! We went to a late lunch and had a large pizza at Stone Canyon while he watched the Royals and the World Cup :)
Miss Anything? Sleep? Yes. What little energy I have left is slowly dwindling as the weeks press on...
Movement: Yes, definite rolls and big kicks! I was talking to my friend, Lindsey, in my office the other day. And I put my hand on my belly where she was kicking me. I stopped and Lindsey actually saw a huge kick from across my desk! I love this feeling. It's like their first communication with you as a mother and them telling you 'Hey, mom, I'm doing ok in here' 
Food cravings: Applesauce is a big one as of late, or as Landon calls it "Ass Sauce"....I see the similarity..Anyway, I never use a spoon when eating Applesauce, but only when it's in the little individual cup. I prefer to drink it like a drink. Weird, I know, but I've been doing that for years now. It tastes better that way, promise! Also, suddenly I'm all about Kool Aid too. I make it, so yes I know how much sugar goes into it, but have you tried the Cherry Limeade one?! I am typically a water and milk girl, but this time around, it's sweet drinks I love & iced tea ;)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender: GIRL....still a girl, folks!
Symptoms: Back pain, already feeling some pressure, she must be sitting directly on top of my bladder....
Belly Button in or out? out
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY - we have a lot going on right now, and our vacation was some much needed time away. I am feeling refreshed and relaxed! 
Looking forward to: Another sono on July 2nd. I have a low posterior placenta (had low anterior with Landon) It's typically diagnosed at the 20 week checkup & is rechecked at around 28 weeks. Chances are, it will move up, but if it doesn't then a C-Section it is! 

Luckily, with Landon it moved up so I could deliver naturally, hopefully with her it does too! We will see. I will say, my mindset is that whatever gets her into this world safely, is what I'm fine with. If a C-Section is the worst thing, then I'm doing ok :)

{decorating overdrive}

Happy Friday, people! We made it through another week! 

As you can probably guess, planning a big boy room and a little girls nursery and a whole entire house has put my mind in decorating overdrive! So many ideas floating around in my head and the majority of them are DIY! 

As I mentioned in previous posts, my decorating sense has really evolved over the last year and I think it is due to Pinterest and Instagram. Its cool to see all the different styles and I really think I've found my true decorating style. Modern and clean with touches of pretty and color :) I have started a couple of lists mostly for me to keep track of where I'm at and what still needs to be done, because I can't visualize it in the actual rooms just yet.

It is so thrilling to have everything purchased and ready to go and then just put everything in its place when move in time comes! It definetly puts my mind at ease to have everything ready as well. Each of the kids rooms will be a labor of love, and that makes me so over the moon happy! 

Here is a little inspiration board that I created to keep me in check for Landidoodle's BIG boy room! He has started saying "I BIIIG" You are big buddy, and we want you to stay little!


I literally buy those white Target matted frames up above every. single. time. I see one.  Not kidding, I am using 3 in our bedroom over the bed, 2-3 in baby girls bedroom, and 2 in Landon's room.  Yes, that equals 8 and I'll probably get more for the living room and the kitchen too.....I'm officially obsessed! They are only around $16 for an 8x10 matted frame and about $13 for a 5x7, not including the discount I always use.  Normally they are 15% off on the Cartwheel app {which I LOOVE}

{24 weeks}



How far along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Around 10 lbs or so. Will have a better update at the 26 week post
Maternity clothes? Maxi dresses and swimsuits lately. We are currently in Florida at my moms place :)
Stretch marks? no 
Sleep: just ok.
Best moment this week: knowing that we still have a week left in paradise!
Miss Anything? Some tropical beachy drinks that I can't have, I settled for my mango lemonade today....and some iced macaroon coffee {full post from our upcoming week in Florida coming in the near future}


Movement: Yes, she kicks me in the ribs....already.
Food cravings: chips and dip & iced tea.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender: Girl!
Symptoms: Not many if any.

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY! Loving vacation!

{22 weeks & home progress}


How far along? 22 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Good question. Not sure. Hopefully not too much more than my last post....
Maternity clothes? Nope not yet other than one pair of skinny jean crops....I'm thinking I may try and skip them this pregnancy. Just buy regular clothes that can be worn again & skirts and dresses! 
Stretch marks? No 
Sleep: We started putting Landon down super early - and he sleeps in much later {what?!} parenting is a learning experience every single day. It's also nice to have some adult time before we hit the hay each night. Landon sleeping better = us sleeping better...
Best moment this week: This is where it's going to get long...it was such a productive and great week for us! First off, baby girl officially has a name! We like to keep baby names a secret up in here, but it is beautiful and just perfect! 

Also, in no particular order: 

1. Major house progression! I love building so far, it is all just so exciting! I keep everything updated on my Instagram so I can put dates on the photos, but basically 2 Wednesdays ago the lumber was delivered into our future front yard. At that point, the foundation was laid, the basement and garage floors were then poured. This is where we were at then... 


Then Thursday of 2 weeks ago, the big stuff started! We were so excited to see the framing going UP! This is where we were Thursday evening...


This was that Friday...

This is the inside of the main level - we have a living room, a kitchen, a breakfast nook, a garage, a bathroom and stairs at this point! 




Monday they were also working on the house. We got a 2nd floor...{thankful the rain held off}



By Tuesday, the 2nd floor was UP! 



And Wednesday, the upstairs made sense - we had a hallway, a master bed/bath, baby girl Bozarth's room, Landon's room, a bathroom, laundry room and a playroom! The stairs actually led somewhere other than Heaven. And we had the beginnings of a roof!

2. I won a giveaway on Instagram! I was so excited!! I woke up on Mother's Day to a notification that I had won this giveaway! I loved everything {& have nothing for baby girl} so went for it. Look at all the cute stuff I won! 


I got to choose any color of moccs from Freshly Picked, so I chose the blush color. I thought it was a color that would be very versatile for the whole year. I LOVE these. Picture them with dark skinny jeans and a white tunic. Too much cute!


I also won a $50 gift card to Little Hip Squeaks and thought I would get the headband collection started for the little lady. Here are her first headbands. Love, 


This past week I also made my first clothing purchase for the girl - these cute rompers for next summer in Florida! 


And the first purchase for her nursery: 


I also did a couple little DIY art projects for her room! One included these paints, I can't wait to share. It turned out way better than I thought! 


3. And on top of all of this, my friend Jana and I hosted a bridal shower for my best friend, Courtney. Here's a little sneak peek! I plan on doing a seperate post on this one.


4. We also celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. My husband totally caught me off guard with this:



In case you're wondering, the reservations were at Justus Drug Store and it was delish! 

There were LOTS of best moments this week! 


Miss Anything? Needing some vino & was really missing the mango mimosas at the shower! 
Movement: She is very active in the morning, almost startlingly so, and in the evenings. I'm thinking it's because I'm so busy during the day that I don't notice her as much. She seems much lower than the first movements I felt with Landon, although my belly feels higher and wider. 
Food cravings: Not really food, more Dr. Pepper this week...
Anything making you queasy or sick: Brushing my teeth.  
Gender: sweet baby girl! 
Symptoms: Not much, just very tired. I can't figure out if I have a cold or pregnancy allergies, but it has been killing me slowly this week...
Belly Button in or out? Out 
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy but tired! 
Looking forward to: Florida and then seeing our little girl again at 28 weeks!

{nursery inspiration board: little lady}

Because I have had in my mind what I want in a girl's room forever, it was pretty easy for me to put this board together. We will not have a home until about a month before the little lady arrives {although they have been moving super quickly!!!}, so it's going to be put together very quickly and everything purchased beforehand & ready to go. That's the plan at least. You know God is laughing at me and my plans, right?

This little sweet girl will have the cutest room ever and it's a totally different dynamic than Landon's soft, neutral nursery.

I already have 2 canvases that I would use for the painting above the crib. I plan on painting over one (depending on which one is the right size for over the crib) in white and picking out the colors for the nursery in paint and either having Landon paint it or me paint something similar to the above Britt Bass painting. I definitely want something personal for over her crib.

We are undecided on whether to use Landon's rocker again or not....we really want a love seat similar to the above for the nursery or a more comfy rocker. Can we just combine those two?!  Better for those sleepless nights, which I'm sure we'll never have, right???


I am loving the contrast from Landon's nursery, which was definitely more neutral.  Now we also need to plan for a big boy room, or maybe we'll keep using his baby stuff to keep his as our baby for a while longer :) I like that idea!

{20 weeks & a gender reveal}

Mike and I are beyond excited to announce that we will be adding a perfect, and most importantly to us HEALTHY, baby girl to our family in September! We are so thrilled for Landon to be a BIG brother & can't wait for that day to come! 

It's a day later and I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that there will be lots of tutus, topknots, and bows in our future! I didn't realize I would be as excited as I am! I really didn't care either way, just wanted a healthy baby, but now that a girl it is, I can't wait!





How far along? 20 weeks + 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: I weighed 121 but I was also wearing some chunky wedge platforms, I would say definitely a over 9 lbs, belly seems much bigger than 4 weeks ago. She is measuring perfectly on track.
Maternity clothes? Some of my skinny jeans/capris from when I was pregnant with Landon, but mostly still wearing the same pants for work {not buttoned and most of the time not zipped....}with longer shirts & wearing my maxi dresses/summer spring dresses the rest of the time. When I'm not in leggings/dance pants at home :)
Stretch marks? No 

Sleep: None. Seriously.

Best moment this week: Finding out about our precious little princess coming in September! My mom picked Landon up from the babysitter on Monday while we went out to celebrate this and Cinco de Mayo and told him he was going to have a baby sister. His response? "Oh no..." 

I got a virgin Strawberry Margarita in honor of the little miss! And of course filled up on chips and salsa before dinner. Why do we not learn our lesson? Those Mexican restaurants, they always suck you in with the darn chips and salsa!




Miss Anything? Of course I missed my  REAL margaritas today on Cinco de Mayo. Could have used a couple of those....like I said I had a virgin one & it was pretty good. Minus the buzz.
Movement: Yes, not consistently, but ALWAYS at about 6-6:30 am this one has a dance party in my belly. She was moving like CRAZY on the sonogram. The tech was saying she couldn't get her to be still for a pic, most of our pics are slightly blurry. 
The tech also asked if we had a name picked out. Mike and I both looked at each other and said "Yes, for a boy...." with big smiles :)
Food cravings: If sweet and sour sauce is wrong then I don't want to be right...
Anything making you queasy or sick: No. I'm over the bug that struck last weekend! Thank you, Zofran!
Gender: I can finally say GIRL! Blessed beyond measure. It just seems perfect, boy then girl :)
Symptoms: Not true pregnancy symptoms. Just tired but that comes with having a nearly 2 year old at home too and not sleeping well. I fell down a mini flight of stairs this past Tuesday {my brother in law thought it was hysterical once he found out I was actually ok....Kind of} I literally thought I was going to die when it happened. I am feeling much better now and not as sore. I did call and speak with the doctor immediately after it happened and they were not the least bit concerned about the baby. "So much cushion, the baby probably didn't even feel it" they said. Well, I did. And it hurt.
Belly Button in or out? Out obviously 
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy of course! What is there to not
be happy about? I know this baby in my tummy is doing well, so I can breath a sigh of relief :) 
Looking forward to: Florida at the end of this month for 9 days. 9 whole days of rest and relaxation on the beach. Can't. Wait.
