{let's start at the beginning}

So on a random Sunday morning this girl got up and decided to take a pregnancy test (or 5, but who's counting?).  Although I was planning on surprising my dear hubby whenever it happened, there was no surprise here.  There was a scream and a startled husband awakened from his slumber.  SURPRISE! I'm pregnant! Off to work he goes, while I go to get another pregnancy test.  The husband tells me DO NOT test until I get home.  Needless to say, he came home to this chalkboard and asked if I took a test while he was at work.  A big smile revealed my answer......oh yeah, and all of these....

Not to worry, I took a digital one later on too.....It said pregnant....

We were going to wait to tell everyone, but then, my mom is my best friend & I couldn't go to our first appointment, get a sonogram and NOT tell her.  I was too excited! It's the only person we have told, besides a good friend of mine at work, one couple that we're very close with, & one of Mike's work friends! My friend at work just had a baby boy named Cooper so we had a lot to talk about....When I told her she jumped around my office, practically crying out of joy for us! I loved her reaction!!!

I told Mike he could tell one person as well (his friend said "This is better than the Superbowl!").  But I wanted to wait to tell all the rest of the family, until the bambino is 12 weeks (on Christmas Day! Perfect!) This is my mom's amazing reaction that I told my stealth husband to try to record, as she heard about the surprise of her upcoming FIRST grandchild! (We bought her a baby carriage charm for her Pandora bracelet)

This is Mike's mom finding out on Christmas morning...She had NO idea!!

I thought it would be nice to look back and see what I was going through weekly, also fun for the baby when he/she is grown up to see the progression.  I decided weekly is better than monthly so he/she/we can see the nitty gritty details on mom's pregnancy.  This is mostly for us, but I figured I would also share on my blog since I have been absent lately.  I hope you enjoy our journey as much as I have!!

How far along? 6 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 1 lb. gained could have very well been the feast we had during the Chief's game today {hence the shirt...}
Maternity clothes? just bought some at Old Navy & Gap Maternity today! My work dress pants feel uncomfortable because I'm bloated! ugh

Stretch marks? nope
Sleep: yep! I have been absolutely LOVING my sleep.  Thank goodness I have a husband that knows I need it!

Best moment this week:  I took another pregnancy test just to be sure. I still don't believe it, and guess what it said....Pregnant. Also, another cool thing was Mike and I watched Life before Birth - a special on TV - at the suggestion of my friend at work, Lauren.  It was really cool and I think gave my hubs some insight as to what is going on in there.....
Miss anything? Wine...I was drooling over my friend Amanda's at Bonefish...she asked me if I was pregnant...I told her I had not been feeling well & that's why I wasn't drinking.....Sorry Amanda. I lied to you, too.
Movement: nope
Food cravings: I poured macaroni & cheese into my twice baked potato &  have been CRAVING crab rangoon every.single.day., and lately I despise meat. Oh and the other day I went shopping with my mom {she knows I'm prego} and was eating my ice cream with cheddar popcorn.....

How far along? 7 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: zero lbs either way! Which is surprising to be because I have NO appetite......
Maternity clothes? yes, or stretchy waistbands.  I feel like I'm squishing our little blueberry when I wear my old pants

Stretch marks? nope, thank goodness.  It's too early for those.
Sleep: yes
Best moment this week: Planning nursery decor and looking at baby stuff with my mama.  We picked out the color for the baby room.  Purchased at Nell Hill's (LOVE) its the Mary Carol Artisan Paints color Winter Wheat.  It is a very very neutral soft taupe color.  I want to do the nursery very neutral and just throw in different items depending on the sex.  I'm not one for over the top animals, planes, ballerinas, bears, pink, purple, or blue.  I like more of a calming neutral theme.  So fun!
I've also been a homebody (due to my morning, noon and night sickness) and really needy lately, so some best moments this week have been spent with my hubby at home.  It's awesome because he really understands/appreciates what I'm going through. Oh yes and getting my snoogle prego pillow.  Lifesaver!! As I am a tummy sleeper and am trying to get out of that mode!
Miss Anything? BEER! I smelled Mike's Stella last night after he drank it, I wanted one so bad! Of course, I resisted. He said "go figure you never drink beer and are suddenly craving it when you can't have it."
Movement: nope
Food cravings: I've been living on oyster crackers and ginger ale. For me currently it is more food aversions.  I can't find anything I want to eat.  Nothing sounds good.  For example, last night we went to rent a movie and I needed to eat but didn't want anything.  Mike stopped by Sonic because I told him I could find something there to eat....nope.  I dry heaved at the sight of a beef and Swiss sandwich on the menu.  With my sweater sleeve over my mouth,  he backed out of that parking spot as quickly as possible to try to get me home.  We ended up ordering pizza which I normally love. It really didn't taste that great to me. I also normally love  pepperoni.  I picked every.single.one off and Mike ate them.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Oh, YA KNOW,  just E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G! Brushing my teeth never fails to make me sick, and it doesn't discriminate either.  I got sick in the middle of an interview I was conducting the other day.....he was a little freaked out....Oh well.
Gender: 13 more weeks!  We truly just want a healthy bambino, no matter the sex!
Labor Signs: no

Symptoms: cramps, morning sickness (I spoke too soon last week, darn it!) , bloating. I'm still so tired, boy, am I tired!
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: When I'm not feeling terrible (which I hear is good because it means baby is growing healthily & steadily in there) I am happy.......
Looking forward to: A 3 day work week!! Thanksgiving, at which I'm hoping we don't let the cat out of the bag to our families with my nausea/no wine drinking.....AND more importantly our baby appointment on November 29 so we can see our little blueberry!

How far along? 8 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:
Maternity clothes? Of course, same reason as last week.

Stretch marks? NO! NEVER!!
Sleep: Yes, I'm sleeping very well & try to sneak naps in whenever possible.
Best moment this week: I got pretty flowers at work from my dear husband.  The note said "I hope you get to feeling better.  I love you".  I nearly broke down in tears.  He knows just what I need & had perfect timing! Here's a picture of the prettiness in my office! He sure knows the way to a pregnant lady's heart...not that he didn't already have it ;-)

Miss Anything? I miss wine, and nuts/peanut butter (which I heard you can't eat because babies have a higher chance of having a peanut allergy.......) I eat them though.
Movement: I wish!
Food cravings: NOTHING! I wish I had some cravings, because if I'm not eating, I'm puking.  This past weekend I was absolutely craving McDonald's biscuits & gravy.  It was weird, I didn't want any other b&g.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Mainly meat & corn casserole from Thanksgiving.  Beef stew, also.
Gender: ?
Labor Signs: nope

Symptoms: nausea and lots of it.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: You mean when I'm not feeling sick? I'm so happy I could burst to have a little baby growing healthily inside of me!
Looking forward to: Our first Dr. appt on Tuesday!! We get to see you little raspberry! 4 more weeks until we get  to tell the world about our little one!

How far along? 9 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 1 lb. +
Maternity clothes? Yep, some! I know I sound crazy, and it may be the bloating but I really feel like I'm showing a bit! I can't wait to get a huge baby bump!

Stretch marks? nope, I'm using my "Mother's Friend" mixed with some cocoa butter every day.
Sleep: Along with this nasty cold that I got on Sunday and pregnancy symptoms, I have been sleeping like a champ! 10 hours or so a night.
Best moment this week: Dr.'s appointment on Tuesday, we got to see our little angel!

Baby with a halo already (just kidding, that's the yolk sac)

8w2d

These are 2 of the sonograms from that appointment. To see our little baby's heart just beating away, actually took my breath away.  I literally gasped out loud then,  of course, broke down in tears, and my dear husband was there to rub my leg.  Sweet boy! The nurse said everything looked and was measuring perfectly & baby had a strong heartbeat of 170 something bpm.  So very exciting for us! It is truly unbelievable to see this life inside of you! I can't even describe it.  Seeing this sonogram was worth my throw up session at McDonald's before the appointment...plus a million more! Which by the way pregnant ladies, there is an amazing medicine that's safe for our growing babes that I got from the OB and it takes ALL nausea away!

Miss Anything? Being at the docs office.  I could look at that screen literally all day! We are so in love!

Movement: nope
Food cravings: Monday night in particular I wanted mashed potatoes for dinner, so I had them...who am I?? Ice cold chocolate milk and frozen yogurt are biggies in my world this week as well. This morning it was cinnamon rolls.  It changes daily and it's so strange. Basically if you don't jump on that craving,  5 minutes later it's gone and you're not even sure why you craved it to begin with because the thought of it now grosses you out. I feel like a crazy person.
Anything making you queasy or sick: basically everything except for what I'm craving at the moment.  I still am having bouts of complete food AVERSION! Red meat is generally out of the picture.
Gender: I really thought about it today in the bath (which is a nearly nightly ritual for me now, with some candles) and I think baby B is a girl....we will see come 20 weeks.  I would love a healthy baby boy or girl!
Labor Signs:  NO WAY.

Symptoms: yes, nausea, once again :) & my bras are hanging on for dear life lately....seriously......I mean I'm not complaining.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy with moody moments here & there
Looking forward to: Christmas!!!! Only 3 more weeks & our families are getting some sonogram pictures for presents!

How far along? 10 WEEKS!!
Total weight gain/loss: + 1 lb.
Maternity clothes? yes and no. These jeans are not maternity, but they are getting a tad uncomfortable.

Stretch marks? no
Sleep: YES! I want to go to bed right when I get home from work.... & crazy dreams!
Best moment this week: Baby B went to his/her first symphony with mama & dad! It was fun! Also Baby is now classified as a fetus & not an embryo! Cheers
Miss Anything? Wine -- my aunt, cousin & mom all had sangria today at the Christmas Homes Tour...Jealous.

Movement: Nope, but I saw this week on my iPhone app that the baby is now moving in there of course the movements are too tiny to feel just yet.
Food cravings: Mustard is the craving this week.  This morning I contemplated putting mustard on a piece of toast instead of butter... Yikes.....
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still bouts of nausea here and there nothing in particular except for mainly any meat.  After the symphony, we went to eat at Anthony's downtown. Right when we were seated I had to run to the bathroom, yuck.  It hit me like a load of bricks.
Gender: I still think girl.....Mike is now undecided.  I want one of both!
Labor Signs: no, but my friend Lauren is having some! :)

Symptoms: Nausea mainly (during this 10 week photo sesh actually, I was not feeling so hot...I wanted it over with), headaches started today, and honestly I think I am really beginning to show.  Not to anyone else obviously but I notice it. Mike thinks I'm crazy
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time:  It depends.  Small things tend to set me off easily, like Calvin being bad.
Looking forward to: Christmas....2 more weeks!  I just want to see our families reactions!

How far along?  11 WEEKS!!!!! It's hard to believe we are almost in our 2nd trimester. WHAT!?
Total weight gain/loss: 1 +
Maternity clothes? eh. Some same as last week, although I actually think I am getting a tummy now & Mike agrees!

Stretch marks? Nope, but I literally slather on Mother's Friend every. single.night.
Sleep: Oh my goodness I got the best night on sleep last night!!! I feel, too, like I'm living up to all the pregnant lady symptoms because I am having some crazy dreams.
Best moment this week: Being almost to 2nd trimester and that much closer to telling our loved ones!
Miss Anything? Beer, it just smells so good! Mike laughs at me because I have never liked beer!

Movement: Nope, but I can hardly wait for it!
Food cravings: Not really this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just about everything food-wise.  We went to Rancho Grande to meet some of his work friends the other night. Right when we pulled into the parking lot, I said "Mike, I don't think I can do this...." about eating Mexican food that particular night.  If you know me at all, you would know that Mexican food is my all-time favorite.  Let's just say Baby B doesn't feel the same way..... surprisingly I was still able to choke down some tacos & queso dip.
Gender: I still think girl....along with my mom and some work friends. I can't wait to find out! I have spotted some pretty cute boy outfits while out and about though... ;)
Labor Signs: NO WAY!

Symptoms: All of the above.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Come on, you should know by now...Christmas! The happiest time of the year when we will be telling everyone our news! Then our 12 week appointment on Dec. 29! We get to hear the heartbeat! WooHoo!

How far along? 12 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas!!
Total weight gain/loss: 1.5 lb +
Maternity clothes? sometimes........

Stretch marks? nope
Sleep: yep! I've been SO busy at work!
Best moment this week: Is this a real question?? Telling our families/friends...

Look at our very first baby outfit from my brother and his girlfriend, Emily (resting on THE MOST adorable rug for the baby room from my mama) :

Miss Anything? my wine

Movement: I don't think so.....
Food cravings: McDonalds, chocolate milk (I guzzle it....) & pizza. As you can tell I'm really drawn to healthy foods.
Anything making you queasy or sick: still everything.
Gender: ??
Labor Signs: no

Symptoms: tiiiired
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy
Looking forward to: Hearing Baby Bozarth's heartbeat this week

Stay tuned for weekly updates!

{birthday time]

For my birthday, I didn't need anything! However.....I wanted a few things. My mama and I went out to NFM a couple weeks back to look around.  We saw some cute things.  I had been looking casually for a floor mirror for our bedroom.  We have one of those cheap tiny ones (that I got in college) ya know, those ones you have to lean against the wall a 45 degree angle and walk all the way down the hallway just to see your outfit.

Yikes!

I wanted to buy the mirror that day.  My mom told me 'no'.  Imagine the look on my face.  I was like "What? Why?! I'm buying it.  It's exactly what I'm looking for".  She said, "No, you have a birthday and Christmas coming up...don't buy it." And so I didn't.

Much to my surprise when I got home yesterday from getting my hair did, there was a box that took up half of our hallway.  I started investigating, like WTH is this??? Opened it and jumped up and down.  I get excited about furnishings, just FYI.  I am really strong when I want to be and leaned it up against the wall by myself.  This sucker is HEAVY! Seriously.  I am absolutely in love.  I told Mike, pictures don't do this thing justice.  It's awesome.  When you're looking in it you can see yourself plus about 5 feet above and below you.  It's amazing.  It makes the room look HUGE, too! She also said she really lucked out because it was their very last one! Lucky! Thanks Mama!

Where's Calvin?

That little red bag is full of items to secure it to the wall.  Not hang but just secure it.  Possibly a good idea if you have little babies running around. Hmm.  They actually advised on the back:  DO NOT HANG! This mirror is too heavy to hang and could result in serious injury or damage to the item. Good to know.

We went to a 'romantic' dinner at Red Lobster :-).  It just sounded soo good.  I got made fun of at work for it.....They asked me where we were going out to eat, thinking I would say Houston's on the Plaza or something. Nope I wanted to get down on some crab legs and cheddar biscuits! Yum!

{Christmas Time is Here}

Can you believe that it's almost Christmas?? I am so very excited and as most people, just LOVE this time of year.  Mainly because it's a time to look back at the wonderful year that's passed with family and great friends and look forward to the next year and what all it has in store for us! I have decorated for Christmas, this is the holiday that I do the most decorating for.  I have put the garland on the stairs but have not put the lights on it yet :(. Also, hubby has not put the outside lights up yet.  That's in the plan this weekend.  We will see...we both have this nasty head cold.  It's no fun! I gave it to him, my mom and my friend at work.  You're welcome! Anyway, here are some little pictures of the decorations so far. As you can tell the tree & mantle are the most decked! LOVE OUR HOME! (Please excuse my iPhone pics.....it's just so darn convenient!)
